Mathie has also played for the Blue Bulls |
Leeds Carnegie scrum-half Scott Mathie believes it is vital that management duo Andy Key and Neil Back stay with the club. Both have been linked with a return to their former club Leicester Tigers, who are currently without a coach. "It's really important they stay as they've made a big difference to the club," Mathie told BBC Radio Leeds. Back has previously said that he has not been approached by the two times Heineken Cup winners.
South African Mathie, 25, signed for Leeds from Natal Sharks last summer."Coming over here I didn't really know what to expect and what the standards would be like," said Mathie. "But I've been so impressed with the club and their management style and setup. "A lot of things are much better here than back home and that's testament to both the club and Andy and Neil," he added.
