Ally Muldowney was Moseley's only try-scorer in their last game |
Moseley are looking for their first win in more than three years in the EDF Energy National Trophy this weekend. The National One side host lower division opposition as Henley Hawks come to Billesley Common. Moseley fell at the first hurdle in each of the last two seasons, their last Trophy victory coming against local rivals Stourbridge in 2005. Henley are fourth in National Three South and have already won three matches to reach this stage. So far they have overcome Rosslyn Park, Hertford and Stourbridge to earn the trip to Birmingham. The two sides have met on nine previous occasions, splitting their eight league games with Moseley winning a National Cup tie 24-20 in October 2004. The only time they have faced each other at the relatively new Billesley Common ground, the home side edged the Hawks 22-19. Moseley are particularly eager to return to action - they have been without a fixture since the Boxing Day defeat at Coventry after their matches with Exeter and Otley were frozen off.
