Birmingham City manager Alex McLeish has admitted a breakthrough in his bid to sign Kris Boyd looks unlikely.
The Blues had a 3.75m bid for the Rangers striker accepted last week, but talks stalled over personal terms.
On Monday McLeish had appeared to suggest talks with Boyd were ongoing, a claim denied by the striker's agent.
"I can't change anything about the offer we put to Kris. If he doesn't want the terms we offered, I'll walk away," McLeish told the Daily Record.
But McLeish, the man who took Boyd to Ibrox, has not given up hope of signing Boyd unless he buys another striker.
"I haven't spoken to (agent) Mark Donaghy since our meeting last week. But I can't say the Boyd deal is finished until I do business elsewhere."
