  | After the disappointment against Leeds, we were eager to get back out and make amends. | Supposedly the average person eats 3.63 roast potatoes, 2.95 chipolatas, 2.54 spoonfuls of Brussels sprouts and 3.51 desserts on Christmas day.It took me so long to measure 3.63 spuds I decided that being average was not for me. There are a number of activities that will burn off the estimated 6000 calories that are consumed. Maybe 33 hours casually cleaning your windows, three full days of ironing or 14 hours on the rowing machine will tickle your fancy. A personal favourite of mine that burns the calories is jumping up and down on the bed 80,160 times. After the disappointment against Leeds the previous weekend, we were eager to get back out and make amends. Playing against the strong Sandy Park wind in the first half we found ourselves without the ball and losing the territory battle. Consequently, we spent large chunks of the first half defending. The Pirates could just not seem to score any points with all of their possession and going in at half time in front gave us a huge amount of confidence. After half time we knew we had to do our basics well, attack in the right areas of the pitch and we would create some scoring chances. We scored early and it acted as a springboard for us. Scoring 38 points against a tenacious Pirates side is something we are proud of. | Every side seem to turn it on at home and this weekend is going to be no exception. |
This week is very similar to last week with New Year but we got last week spot on in terms of attitude and it is something that we shall be looking to repeat. Our first game of the New Year will be away at the vastly improved Moseley. Every side seem to turn it on at home and this weekend is going to be no exception. Most of the lads will be looking forward to the hustle and bustle of bringing in the New Year on Wednesday and the countdown is always worth a bit of a chuckle.
