Leeds second row Jon Pendlebury believes the management duo of Andy Key and Neil Back and their coaching staff are the best he has ever worked with.

The 25-year-old signed from Gloucester in the summer and has also spent time at Rotherham Titans.

"I think a lot of the things they are trying to at Leeds are better than what was at Gloucester," Pendlebury told BBC Radio Leeds.

"Ideas to push Leeds' forward are much better than at my previous clubs."

Pendlebury explained: "Leeds clearly are not a club that want to stand still.

"They want to push for promotion from National League One this season and next year push on even further."

The former England Under-21 has been one of the star men for Leeds this season, playing his part in their unbeaten campaign.

His form earned his the honour of captaining in the side against Moseley and Newbury, in the absence of Mike MacDonald and Rob Rawlinson.

"It's been good to step in as captain and a great honour, I was surprised to be named captain.

"On the pitch though we have a lot of leaders and it's all player lead, which makes being captain that bit easier."

Leeds Carnegie host Plymouth Albion on Sunday and BBC Radio Leeds has full match commentary on 774 AM and DAB from 1450 GMT.
