Simon Sharrott says his side could have won Saturday's game |
Guernsey Rugby Club captain Simon Sharrott says his side could have beaten Tottonians on Saturday had they taken their chances. The island side lost 8-6 to the Hampshire-based club in London South West Division Three at Footes Lane. Sharrott told BBC Guernsey: "We had opportunities but we didn't take them to the potential that we should have. "We had three scoring opportunities when the ball went to ground instead of to hand and that's the difference." The loss against second-placed Tottonians was Guernsey's first home defeat of the season and sees them go fifth from bottom in table.
