Rob Thirlby got two tries while his brother Paul kicked 12 points. |
Redruth cruised past Southend to record their eighth straight win in National League Two and go seven points clear at the top of the table. Brothers Rob and Paul Thirlby combined for a total of 22 points for Redruth as they dominated the game in Essex. Rob Thirlby got two tries for the visitors while Paul kicked three conversions and two penalties. The Cornish side's other two tries came from flanker James Mann and winger Lewis Vinnicombe. And with second-placed Cambridge going down to a shock 18-13 defeat by bottom side Waterloo, it means Redruth can afford to lose a game and still be clear at the top.
