Exeter Chiefs kept up the pressure on National One leaders Leeds with a narrow victory over London Welsh at Sandy Park on Saturday. Welsh missed three penalties with the wind behind them in the first half but managed to kick one for a 3-0 lead. Chiefs lock Lewis Stevenson drove over to put Exeter 5-3 ahead at the break. The hosts then put Welsh under immense pressure and eventually sealed the win when prop Chris Budgen touched down for his fourth try in two games.
