Birmingham & Solihull launched an amazing second-half comeback for a 32-12 League 2 win at home to Blaydon.

Bees trailed 12-3 at half-time at Sharmans Cross Road, with a penalty from Mark Woodrow their only success.

But second-half tries from captain Rob Connolly, Simon Hunt, Reece Spee and Rod Petty turned the game around to earn Bees a four-try bonus point.

Woodrow, who added the remaining points with the boot, said: "Our progress is all down to a massive team effort."

Woodrow has also been called into the England Sevens' training squad.

He is currently in London with the squad and another training session is due to follow in November.

Selection should then follow for the 12-man squad who will travel to Dubai for the Emirates Airline Dubai Sevens and the opening leg of the IRB Sevens World Series.

"I'm really looking forward to the whole experience," said Woodrow. "I'd love to make a tour.

"I've trained hard just to one day get a chance like this."
