National One side Esher have signed hooker James Hayter, following his release by Llanelli Scarlets.

The 28-year-old arrives at Molesey Road after playing 17 games for Welsh region Scarlets last season.

Esher team manager Dave Page told BBC Southern Counties Radio: "It's quite a big signing for us. It's one of the places we were looking to strengthen.

"He was at Harlequins for four seasons and had many first-team appearances in the Premiership."
