Chris Morris (l) and Glenn Cooper are seen as talented players |
Launceston have raided their Cornish National League Two rivals Mounts Bay and Redruth for a hooker and a winger. Redruth hooker Glenn Cooper, 26, makes the switch to Polson Bridge, as does Mounts Bay winger Chris Morris, 17. The club has also signed Cornish winger Matt Luxton, 21, who had been playing for the University of Cardiff. "Our aim is to bring the best and most talented Cornish youngsters to this club and develop them, said All Blacks joint head coach Jon Hill. Cooper, 26, has played for Bath, Newbury and Plymouth Albion as well as playing for England under 18s and 19s. 'Pace vital' "He is a blood and guts player with a great engine who is not afraid to put his head in. We like and need that sort of player at Polson," Hill said. Cooper said: "This is a definitely a challenge I'm looking forward to. I've come down to play a part in taking the All Blacks straight back up into Division One." Morris is a product of the South West Rugby Academy and is the fifth player from the institution to sign for the All Blacks for next season. "Although Chris has little experience of senior rugby, I believe that he has the pace to beat his opponents and pace will win games," Hill said. "We're not afraid to play 18 and 19 year olds if they are good enough," he added.
