Barrett was part of England coach Ben Ryan's squad which was beaten by Kenya in San Diego last month.

Six of England's seven contracted sevens players are unavailable and are replaced by five players from Grand Slam winning under 20's squad.

"Hong Kong is an awesome event, I know I have a side that will crawl off the field for England," said Ryan.

"This group will give their all for the cause and although we go into this tournament as huge underdogs everyone here is determined to do the white shirt and the red rose justice."
