 Malvern almost managed a last-gasp win |
Malvern need three wins from the final four matches to ensure promotion from Midlands Two West after they lost 21-19 at third-placed Walsall on Saturday. Top-of-the-table Malvern almost snatched a win as Tim Stretcher led a strong comeback with two late tries.
Walsall and second-placed Hereford both closed the gap on Malvern with Hereford winning 22-14 at Cheltenham North.
Director of rugby Mike Robins said: "I'm proud of every last man who took the field in a Malvern shirt today."
Meanwhile Bromsgrove's relegation worries appear to be easing as they beat Burton 19-12 at Finstall Park.
