Jersey scored four tries against Guernsey to win the game |
Jersey retained the annual Inter-Insular Rugby Trophy after beating Guernsey 31-19. The competition prohibits the islands' first-team players from taking part, leaving the squad to be selected from junior and JRA league sides.
Jersey second XV player Mark Le Mottee scored two tries with United Bank's Harry Trower and Luke Le Sueur from the youth development team adding one each.
Le Sueur also converted all four tries and scored a penalty.
The two islands were drawing 7-7 at the break and a determined effort from the Guernsey outfit saw them bank two late tries.
The Player of the Match trophy was awarded to Guernsey's South African Van Vuuren.
Around 300 spectators watched the match at the Grainville pitch in Jersey.
