Exeter beat Cornish Pirates in a nine-try thriller as almost 6,000 fans turned up to see the South West's top two clubs meet in National One. Chiefs trailed 15-5 during the first half after wing Vunga Lilo and fly-half Gareth Steenson had given the coachless Pirates the initiative at Sandy Lane.
But a lethal second-half spell saw Josh Drauniniu, captain Richard Baxter and Tony Yapp haul Exeter 32-15 ahead.
Tom Johnson finished off the Pirates, for whom Steenson scored 17 points.
Cornish Pirates are without a coach following Jim McKay's resignation on Wednesday.
