Hadden made 13 changes to his side to face the All Blacks, prioritising next Saturday's crunch clash with Italy.

"The huge advantage we've got is that instead of taking four or five days to recover, we can train tomorrow.

"It gives us five days of quality build-up to the match which is going to ultimately decide how well we do in this competition," he said.

"We will be judged on whether we qualify for the quarter-finals."

Scotland need to beat Italy to finish second in Pool C and qualify for the World Cup quarter-finals.

Hadden admitted his second-string side were dismantled by New Zealand at Murrayfield.

"It was a tough afternoon, there's no doubt about it," he continued.

"The gulf in class was there for all to see. I thought it was a pretty gutsy effort overall.
