Jones left his job at Queensland three months ago |
Eddie Jones, the man who coached Australia to the 2003 World Cup final, has been named as South Africa's technical advisor for the World Cup. Jones, who is to work part-time at Saracens next season, left his last job as Queensland coach three months ago.
"He brings a wealth of experience and knowledge," said SA Rugby's manager of national teams, Andy Marinos.
"His vast knowledge and outstanding coaching credentials will be of great benefit and significance."
Jones said he was delighted to have a chance to work alongside coach Jake White.
"This is a very professional and committed unit and the players and team management are determined to leave no stone unturned in their planning," he said.
South Africa have been drawn with England in Pool A at the World Cup.
The other teams in the group are Samoa, the United States and Tonga.
