Former Australia coach Eddie Jones is likely to return to England after resigning from his role with the Queensland Reds. Jones, 47, is relocating his family to the UK, where Northampton are looking for a director of rugby and he has also enjoyed a previous stint at Saracens.
The Reds won just two of 13 games this season, finishing last in the Super 14.
"I'm looking forward to moving overseas and maybe taking on a coaching role," Jones said in announcing his departure.
"I've been lucky enough to coach the Brumbies, Australia and Queensland - I've had a pretty good go."
Jones, who took Australia to the 2003 World Cup final, will stay on at the Reds until a new coach is appointed.
Queensland chairman Peter Lewis added: "This is a regrettable but amicable parting of the ways.
"Eddie's family is relocating to the UK and, while he had initially announced his intention to coach the Reds in 2008, he decided that it was in Queensland rugby's best interests to recruit a successor now rather than endure 12 months of instability and speculation."
Pat Howard, who stepped down as Leicester coach after Sunday's Heineken Cup final, has been linked with the Queensland post, along with Wallabies assistant coach Michael Foley.
