New Zealand produced a dominant display to overpower IRB World Sevens series leaders Fiji in the final of the London leg at Twickenham. New Zealand won a feisty encounter 29-7 to give themselves a chance of overhauling Fiji in the final round in Edinburgh next weekend.
Fiji will take a 10-point lead over New Zealand to Murrayfield.
Wales defeated Scotland 15-5 in the quarter-finals but were beaten 24-7 by Fiji in the last four.
England's dismal campaign continued after they failed to qualify for the quarter-finals of the main competition.

But they won the Bowl after wins over Kenya and France before defeating Portugal 10-0 in the final.
New Zealand, who defeated Samoa 19-0 in the semi-final, were helped on their way in the final by Afeleke Pelenise's early try.
They never looked in danger of surrendering the lead and were in total control as they coped better with the wet conditions.
Zar Lawrence (twice), Roy Kinikinilau and Adam Thompson completed the scoring for the Kiwis while William Ryder's consolation effort for Fiji was the only try New Zealand conceded on the day.
"We played very well," said coach Gordon Tietjens. "It was a magnificent effort and it was important for the series."
