Mauro Bergamasco missed the England game because of injury |
Mauro Bergamasco and Andrea Masi have recovered from injury and will start for Italy against Scotland on Saturday. The pair, who missed the loss to England and have 84 caps between them, are named in a team searching for their first Six Nations win since 2004.
Masi is on the wing for the Murrayfield clash in place of the injured Denis Dallan while Bergamasco replaces open-side flanker Maurizio Zaffiri.
The only other change sees blind-side Alessandro Zanni come in for Josh Sole.
Sole, who started the games against France and England, has failed to recover from an elbow injury picked up at Twickenham but could feature against Wales next month.
Zanni will win his 12th cap in his first Six Nations start.
"The formation was picked to guarantee the greatest possible continuity to our path to growth," said coach Pierre Berbizier.
"Despite the final result, the game against England represented an important turning point. This group of players has learned to take responsibility.
"It certainly won't be easy against Scotland, contrary to what some people think.
"Let's not forget that our opponents are coming off a home win against Wales, and at Murrayfield last year, were able to stop France and England."
Prop Andrea Lo Cicero is set to make his 29th Six Nations appearance - the most by any Italian player since they joined the tournament in 2000.
