Barras wrapped up her hat-trick in the 65th minute |
England's women began the defence of their Six Nations crown with a resounding 60-0 victory over Scotland. Charlotte Barras landed a hat-trick of tries while her Saracens team-mate Claire Allan scored a try on her debut.
Captain Sue Day landed two tries while Karen Andrew, Danielle Waterman, Catherine Spencer and Maggie Alphonsi also grabbed one each.
Day opened the scoring in the fifth minute with Alphonsi's injury-time try completing the rout.
England head coach Geoff Richards said: "This was a really pleasing performance, especially considering the short preparation period we have had.
"It's great to see eight new caps on the field today and this is a great start for our Six Nations campaign."
