Pelous has won 110 caps for his country, one behind Philippe Sella |
Fabien Pelous should be fit to lead France in the forthcoming Six Nations despite being ruled out of action for up to six weeks with an ankle injury. The 33-year-old lock sprained his left ankle during Toulouse's Heineken Cup defeat to the Scarlets on Saturday.
He will be out for up to six weeks, giving him just enough time to recover ahead of France's Six Nations opener against Italy on 3 February.
Pelous has endured numerous injuries over the past year and a half.
Ruptured knee ligaments hampered Pelous in 2005 while last autumn he was banned for nine weeks for elbowing Australia hooker Brendan Cannon.
In 2006, he has suffered knee and hand injuries.
