Dallaglio's clash with Corry could be crucial to Saturday's semi-final |
Lawrence Dallaglio has vowed to use Wasps' Powergen Cup semi-final against Leicester on Saturday to press his claims for an England starting spot. The number eight, back in the England squad after 18 months in international retirement, will go head-to-head with Leicester rival Martin Corry.
"There are one-on-one battles we must win and I view every game as a chance to press my England claims," he said.
The 33-year-old has replaced Corry twice in this year's Six Nations.
And Dallaglio admits he willl be have to be on top of his game if he is to help Wasps overcome Leicester at the Millennium Stadium on Saturday.
"If you wanted to play your best of the season this is the time to do it," he said.
"I'll have to play well this weekend because you can't be anything other than that to beat Leicester. It will take our very best performance to win.
"There is a common trend that when they have beaten us in the past it is because their heavyweights have played very well."
