 Deacon impressed on England's summer tour |
Leicester lock Louis Deacon has been called into the England squad as Simon Shaw and Tom Palmer battle injuries. Deacon, who turns 25 later this week, is uncapped but was a member of the England squad that won the Churchill Cup last summer and is rated highly.
He has captained Leicester this season and was called into the England squad ahead of more experienced rivals Steve Borthwick and Tigers colleague Ben Kay.
Palmer has an abdominal muscle strain while Shaw has a back injury.
England open their autumn international programme against Australian on 12 November before taking on New Zealand and Samoa.
