Mortlock picked up the injury against Waikato |
ACT Brumbies captain Stirling Mortlock will miss the Super 12 final against the Canterbury Crusaders because of a knee injury. The Brumbies booked their place in Saturday's final following a 32-17 win over Waikato at the weekend.
But Mortlock suffered a grade two medial ligament strain to his right knee in the game.
As a result of the injury he could miss Australia's two Tests against Scotland on 13 and 19 June.
"I knew straight away that something serious had happened," said Mortlock.
"It's disappointing to have worked so hard this season and be ruled out at this stage, but I have every confidence in the team and blokes like Joel Wilson and Clyde Rathbone to step into the role and get the job done."
Owen Finegan will captain the side in his absence.
