Ex-All Black Jonah Lomu has suffered a setback in his battle against a potentially fatal kidney disease. Lomu is now barely able to walk and has been forced to cancel a speaking tour in Britain because of the problems.
"The veins in his feet are struggling to cope with the blood flow," Lomu's manager Phil Kingsley-Jones told New Zealand newspaper the Sunday News.
"That has resulted in nerve problems in his feet and often means he has no feeling there."
Kingsley-Jones said the problems were caused by the dialysis treatment that 28-year-old Lomu is undergoing.
"He is not walking properly so doctors have to find out what is going on," he added.
Lomu was one of the stars of the 1995 and 1999 Rugby World Cups, but the illness has forced him to put his career on hold.
