Peacock was angered by some Wigan players actions in the previous match |
Wigan coach Michael Maguire refused to get involved in a war of words with Leeds' Jamie Peacock ahead of the Super League play-off match this weekend. Injured Peacock, 32, was angered when Thomas Leuluai and Mark Riddell stood over Danny Maguire with what turned out to be a serious knee injury. Maguire said: "Certain things go on after the game that need to be but that's where I'm going to leave it. "All we are doing is concentrating on what we need to do." The England captain, who is sidelined with ruptured knee ligaments, said the behaviour of Leuluai and Riddell "doesn't get any more cowardly". The Wigan pair believed McGuire had obstructed George Carmont late in the Rhinos' dramatic 27-26 play-off win at the DW Stadium and remonstrated as he lay on the ground afterwards. | All we are doing is concentrating on what we need to do Wigan coach Michael Maguire |
Maguire did confirm reports that Leuluai had apologised after the game but the Warriors coach did not want to be drawn further on the matter when pressed. "I'm not going to make any comment on that," he said. "We're looking for a great performance from our team, that's what it's about at the moment." Elsewhere Maguire confirmed Sam Tomkins is fit after dislocating his finger and scrum-half Paul Deacon could also come back into contention after a week out.
