Flanagan to make Australia switch

Wigan

Wigan Warriors forward Mark Flanagan will move to Australia at the end of the Super League season after signing for NRL side Wests Tigers.

The 21-year-old has agreed a two-year deal with the Sydney club where he will link up with England international second rower Gareth Ellis.

Coach Brian Noble said: "It's a great chance for him and it would have been wrong to try to persuade him to stay.

"It's the right decision for Mark, for us and for Wests."

The former Bradford player, who is out of contract with the Warriors at the end of the season, is the son of ex-Great Britain loose forward Terry Flanagan.

He made his Super League debut at Celtic Crusaders in June and has appeared in the club's last seven matches.
