The length of McAvoy's new deal has yet to be confirmed |
Ex-Great Britain centre Nathan McAvoy has been offered a new deal by Wigan. McAvoy initially joined the club on a month's loan from Super League rivals Leeds Rhinos soon after Brian Noble took over as coach.
That deal was swiftly extended until the end of the season as ex-Salford player McAvoy helped the Warriors battle out of the relegation zone.
"I've spoken to Nathan and he'll be staying here - we'll see how long for," said Noble.
"We'll talk to Nathan about that, but he's keen to stay and I want him to stay. He's been pretty much the unsung hero in all of it this season.
"Everybody else has grabbed the headlines and this guy has just gone in there and been pretty efficient week in, week out."
