Wigan coach Denis Betts is confident new scrum-half signing Dennis Moran will be able to fill the boots of the retired Adrian Lam.
The 27-year-old former Parramatta Eels player has joined the Warriors from the London Broncos on a two-year deal.
"He'll be a different kind of player but he's a very, very talented individual," said Betts.
"His main attribute is his great pace. He scores tries, he's got a great kicking game and he's tough."
Wigan lost to Leeds in the Super League play-off final eliminator this season but Betts believes Moran's arrival will make a difference.
"You're always looking at improving I think that's what Dennis will help us do next year," said Betts.
Lam is to join Wigan's coaching staff when he returns from Australia in late November.
He will take charge of the under-21s but also assist Betts on a daily basis.
