July is a big month for Warrington, says Lee Briers
Briers has scored 31 goals this season for Warrington
Warrington Wolves stand-off Lee Briers has said his side's Super League title chances will be seriously tested in the coming weeks.
Briers believes the Wolves must stay within touching distance of Wigan, who lead by four points.
"If you take your eye off the ball, you're going to get turned over" Briers, 32, told BBC Radio Merseyside.
"If we lose two points now, it could have a massive effect. It could see us either challenging or falling away."
Briers added: "The league is that evenly matched. Salford beat St Helens and Catalans beat Leeds, so if you take your eye off the ball you're going to lose two points."
Warrington face in-form Castleford at the Halliwell Jones Stadium on Sunday - the last meeting between the two sides ended in a 28-16 win for the Wolves in February.
Briers says his side are wary of the threat posed, as he thinks the Tigers are a better side than their league position suggests.
"They've won the last four, I think", Briers added. "They've struggled with injuries and a small squad like Castleford can't cope with that many, so that's probably why they've struggled.
"But they've got some quality players like Ryan McGoldrick, Rangi Chase, and Dean Widders, so we're going to have to be on our guard. But we've got quality too and we need to put a performance in that will deserve the two points."
