Forward Lee Mitchell hopes for Warrington Wolves future
Mitchell made his Warrington debut in 2007
Warrington youngster Lee Mitchell says playing for Leigh will help his chances of getting in the Wolves first team.
Mitchell, 21, told BBC Radio Merseyside that he believes he has a tough task to break into a successful Wolves side.
"You've got to give credit to the way the lads are playing at the minute and they're in top form," he said.
"For me to knock them off, I've got to play better than them when I get the opportunity and that's the thing I've got to master at the minute."
He continued: "It's definitely my goal to get in there and I'd like to be there or thereabouts at the end of the year.
"I want to prove to myself to make sure I can play regularly in first team at Warrington."
Mitchell is part of a growing group of players to hold dual registration, which means he can play for his host club Warrington and Championship side Leigh anytime during the season.
He has played for the Wolves first team before but understands he needs to improve if he is to break into a side that is fighting at the top of Super League.
"I'm really enjoying getting the best of both worlds," said Mitchell. "I can learn stuff from the likes of Adrian Morley, Dave Solomona, Ben Westwood and Louis Anderson at Warrington.
"Then I get to go and be coached at Leigh with a world class coach in Ian Millward. I can also learn stuff from players that have been around for a while, Robbie Paul and Stuart Donlan.
"I'm learning stuff every week from different people and different coaches and it's a great position for me as a youngster to be in.
"It's definitely improved me as a player throughout the year because I've been playing at a higher standard, rather than playing Under-20s every week.
"No disrespect to the players at the Under-20s but I need to be pushed in order to make that jump to the first team."
