Kear's Wakefield side are currently sixth in Super League |
Next Sunday's clash between Wakefield Trinity Wildcats and Castleford Tigers promises to be a compelling match-up, according to Wildcats coach John Kear. The arch-rivals both have 22 points in Super League, with the Tigers just ahead on points difference. "Castleford have won the last three and are a very good side with some great young players," Kear told he BBC's Super League Show. "[But] we are playing well too, so the Hearwell Stadium is the place to be." The Wildcats go into the West Yorkshire derby on the back of a superb 22-20 win at leaders St Helens, while Cas picked up an 18-12 win at Salford on Friday night. Kear added: "Both clubs are producing excellent young players and have proved to be very strong other the course of the season so far. "I'm happy with the way we are playing. We almost beat Leeds a week ago, and really should have, and now we've gone and won at Saints." Rugby league fans can watch the Super League Show again either via the Red Button or BBC iPlayer. BBC Radio Leeds will have full match commentary of Wakefield v Castleford on Sunday from 1500 BST.
