Banned duo have Wildcats future

Wakefield insist Danny Brough and Danny Sculthorpe will be welcomed back once their one-week suspensions are over.

The duo were banned for breaches of club discipline and will miss Sunday's Super League clash with Huddersfield.

But coach John Kear said: "There will be no grudges borne or anything like that. They've broken the disciplinary code, they've been punished, that's it.

"Hopefully the players will accept the rulings of the club and get on with their lives and rugby league careers."

The club have refused to comment publicly on the reasons for suspending scrum-half Brough and prop Sculthorpe, but it is is thought the pair were drinking beer on the team bus on the way back from Sunday's game at Harlequins.

Brough, 26, has been linked with a move to Super League rivals Huddersfield, who have confirmed their interest in signing the Scotland captain.

But Kear says he wants to keep hold of the former Castleford and Hull FC player, whose contract runs until the end of next season.

"I see Danny very much as part of the future of Wakefield Trinity Wildcats," said the Wildcats coach.
