Pryce missed the Challenge Cup semi-final through injury |
St Helens will be without stand-off Leon Pryce for the Super League play-offs after he was told he needs to have surgery on his neck. The 28-year-old, who has already been out for a month, will be sidelined for a further three months. Saints coach Mick Potter said: "There was always that feeling that it [the problem] was still there. He felt it just wasn't going to be right. "Having his experience in the finals would have been fantastic." Potter is hoping scrum-half Kyle Eastmond could recover from a hip injury for Friday's qualifying play-off with Warrington. Utility back Jonny Lomax is hoping to overcome a quad injury, while Maurie Fa'asavalu, who is leaving Saints and rugby league for union's Harlequins after the season, could return after three months out.
