St Helens full-back Paul Wellens has backed coach Mick Potter to end his first season in charge at Knowlsey Road by leading Saints to Grand Final glory.
Potter's side will face Leeds in the showpiece at Old Trafford on Saturday.
"The relationship is fantastic and Mick is as hungry as anyone for success. The club have built a winning culture," Wellens told BBC Radio Merseyside.
"Mick shares our winning habit, he wants to be successful and he's looking forward to the game more than anyone."
He added: "The players and the coach get on really well and we're working well together, despite what a lot of people may say."
Wellens believes Potter has had his critics this season because of the strong run former coach Daniel Anderson enjoyed towards the end of the 2008 campaign.
"Last year we won 21 straight games to get to the Grand Final and when you go on winning runs like that people expect it to be the norm," said Wellens.
"This year we lost to Salford, at home to Wakefield and Catalans and there were a few games where we didn't get results and performances weren't as good as we'd expect them to be and that invariably leads to unrest among the supporters.
"We're in the same position as we were last year, with an opportunity to win a Grand Final."
It is the third successive year that the two sides have met in the Grand Final, with Leeds having won the previous two meetings.
And Wellens knows his side have their work cut out to stop the Yorkshiremen making it three in a row.
"Leeds have looked fantastic all season, they're the best attacking side in the competition by far and we're going to have to be very good defensively like we have been in the last few weeks," he added.
