This is Potter's first season in charge of the Saints

St Helens head coach Mick Potter believes the Super League leaders still need to improve this season.

Saints are four points clear at the top of the table after their 68-22 win over Castleford Tigers on Sunday.

"There is clearly some improvement needed in some of the things we need to do," Potter, 45, told the BBC's Super League Show.

"To concede 22 points away from home and still win is pleasing but we have to defend better than that."
