Perelini set for St Helens exit

St Helens fitness coach Apollo Perelini is to leave his position to head up an elite sporting academy in Dubai.

The 39-year-old will remain at the club until after Saturday's Super League Grand Final against Leeds Rhinos.

"I am really sad to be leaving St Helens and the most successful club in Super League," said Perelini, who also made 193 appearances for the Saints.

"I have made the decision for the future of my family as opportunities like this do not come around often."

The academy in Dubai has been set up to help burgeoning young athletes develop their game and improve their fitness and technique.

"I am proud at what I have achieved at the club in terms of playing and in strength and conditioning and I am looking forward to the challenge in Dubai," Perelini added.
