St Helens hooker Keiron Cunningham has signed a two-year contract extension, keeping him at the club until 2007. Cunningham, 28, was out of contract in the summer but insisted he had never really given any thought to leaving the only club he has ever played for.
"The salary cap means I've had to accept a pay cut but I was willing to do this as we have to keep this young, talented team together," he said.
"I've won everything with the Saints. Now I want to win it all over again."
Saints Chairman Eamonn McManus was thrilled at Cunningham's decision.
"He has yet again shown his total loyalty to his hometown team," he said. "It was impossible to even imagine him ever playing against St Helens."
