McRae's Reds have lost four out of six games by six points or less |
Salford coach Shaun McRae has said his City Reds could have been play-off contenders with a bit of luck. Reds are second from bottom in the Super League table, 10 points adrift of the top eight sides. McRae told BBC Radio Manchester: "I don't know the stats but I would think it's probably six or seven games where we've lost by six points or less. "If you converted those into points you'd be talking about being a shot for the play-offs." "I didn't actually say we'd be in a play-off position but we'd at least be able to play the last few matches with an opportunity to be a play-off team," he added. "But that hasn't happened. The reality is we're on 14 points. "We'd like to finish the season on 18 points. We face Bradford and Leeds, both tough competitive sides who'll both have reasons to play like we will."
