Salford (0) 10 Tries: Sidlow, Ratchford Goals: Wilshere Hull KR (6) 14 Tries: Newton, Briscoe Goals: Dobson 3
Hull KR recorded their fourth straight win in Super League but were made to fight all the way by lowly Salford. Clint Newton opened the scoring just before the break before Adam Sidlow drew the home side level when he took Robbie Paul's pass to go over. Michael Dobson's penalty edged Rovers ahead before Shaun Briscoe scored a second try for the visitors late on. Stefan Ratchford touched down at the death following Jeremy Smith's kick, but it was too late for the home side.
Salford coach Shaun McRae: "It was great to be involved. I think it was a win for the defensive effort of both sides, but I think it was still one of most entertaining games of the season. "It's disappointing to lose, but there's a manner in which you lose. I'd give us an 'A' for effort - probably a 'C' for execution, though." Hull KR coach Justin Morgan: "I'm very pleased. "The first thing was to make sure we finished in the top four. We've done it so that's a pat on the back for all. "You don't get remembered for coming fourth so we have to push on from here, but I have to recognise what's been a fantastic achievement by everyone."
