Gower has turned down a move to Salford

Gower had been shown round Salford, but has now verbally agreed a deal with his current club the Penrith Panthers and is expected to sign a new contract.

"The England offer wasn't really that tempting when it got down to the nitty-gritty," Gower said.

"I'm a Penrith product born and bred and I just didn't want to leave," he told the Sydney Morning Herald.
