Howell signed from Canberra Raiders in 2007 |
Harlequins centre David Howell has signed a new two-year contract extension which will keep him at the club until the end of 2013. Australian Howell, 27, who signed in December 2007, won the Player's Player of the Year award in 2009. "I'm delighted to re-sign, my family and I are enjoying London and are not ready to go back home yet," he said. Meanwhile, Quins have handed prop Olsi Krasniqi, 18, a two-year contract after he impressed in his debut season. Krasniqi, who made his Super League debut in June against the Crusaders before going on to play eight more games in the top flight, said: "I'm really pleased to have signed with Harlequins RL. "I don't want to go anywhere else and I have been working hard to earn a squad number since I was 15 years old." | 606: DEBATE sign some players aka GMO |
Rob Powell, Quins acting head coach, said: "David's attacking quality and defensive nous are matched by his leadership within the group. "I am sure he will have a massive impact again this year. It's another big re-signing for the club and the squad is coming together nicely. "For a young man in a tough position, Olsi came through the season with a lot of credibility. The benefit of full time training will only help as he develops and it will help him push for a first team place again."
