Harlequins need silverware - Louis McCarthy-Scarsbrook

Harlequins prop Louis McCarthy-Scarsbrook says top-level silverware is the "missing link" at the club.

The London side have not reached the end of season play-offs since 2005, the year before they became Harlequins RL.

He told BBC London 94.9: "If we win something, the game is just going to get bigger and bigger down here.

"It's the missing link. All we want is to win something. As a London boy, first thing's first, I want to win a cup or the league down here."

Quins last reached the Challenge Cup final in 1999, but lost to Leeds.

"I've been here for seven years and we haven't won anything. We got to a final as London Broncos but I would love to win something," he said.

Although players often move clubs to hunt for silverware and keep in the eyes of national selectors, McCarthy-Scarsbrook, a member of the England Elite Training squad, says leaving London would be a big decision for him.

"All my family's down here, so if that comes along then I'd have to take a big look at myself and a big look at what I want to do and what I want to be," he said.

"Obviously it crosses your mind but I'm down here playing for Quins at the moment so my main objective is to win something."
