Melling made his Great Britain debut against France in 2007

Chris Melling has signed a two-year contract extension with Harlequins, keeping him at the club until the end of the 2011 season.

The 24-year-old full-back joined Quins from Wigan in 2006 and has started every game this season.

Melling told the club website: "The next few years will be very exciting for the club.

"I'm very happy playing my rugby in London and had no doubts about committing my future to Harlequins."

Head coach Brian McDermott said: "Chris recognises that very positive things are happening in London and I'm very pleased that he has decided to stay with us."
