Purdham is the only Harlequins player to be called up for the World Cup |
Harlequins captain Rob Purdham says he will be fulfilling a childhood dream when he heads off to the World Cup with the England squad later this month. "I wouldn't miss it for the world. It's something I've been dreaming of since I was a kid," he told BBC London 94.9. "It will be the biggest moment of my career so far. I've played for England but it's never been for the top team. "This is the final best 24 players in the country and going to a World Cup just tops it off." Quins' season finished in early September and Purdham's been using the last month to recover. "I'm not too bad because we've had these few weeks off while the play-offs have been going on. "It's the World Cup so you would do anything to go and play, your body recovers with the adrenalin and the enthusiasm that you get for going over there."
