Harlequins have strengthened their squad with three new British signings for next season. Wigan utility player Chris Melling (22), Huddersfield back-row Jon Grayshon and forward David Tootill (20) from Leeds have all agreed to join.
Coach Brian McDermott has welcomed the arrival of the trio.
"It's a big decision for a young player but these three are willing to buck the trend away from the comforts of home and back their own ability," he said.
Melling is a former Wigan senior academy captain who was called on to make the step up this season at the JJB.
While he played mostly as an outside back in his first team appearances, he will be used primarily as a hooker at Quins.
Grayshon and Tootill will also give the Quins pack a significant boost.
McDermott added: "They will both add to what I think is already a formidable pack of forwards we have here at Quins.
"Jon is a big, athletic line-breaker and with him we're looking at our long-term squad building. They have both left good clubs to join another very good club."
