Relegated Leigh to stay full-time
Relegated Leigh have revealed they are to maintain a full-time squad in the LHF National League One next season.

Leigh football director Stephen Grainey has refuted suggestions by former head coach Darren Abram that the Centurions would be reverting to part-time status.

"We will definitely have a full-time squad of 25 players," said Grainey.

"We want to go back up into Super League, although not necessarily at the first attempt. As long as we get there by 2008, we will be quite happy."

Meanwhile, Leigh's caretaker-coach Tommy Martyn has thrown his hat into the ring as the club look to appoint a successor to Abram.

"We've had well over 20 applications so far and obviously Tommy is in the running for the job," added Grainey.

"There are one or two interesting applicants which I can't mention for obvious reasons but we are pleased with the response so far."
