 McClennan's side lost 18-10 to Melbourne |
Leeds Rhinos coach Brian McClennan has no concerns about Richard Silverwood refereeing Sunday's Super League derby at Huddersfield Giants. Silverwood was heavily criticised by Leeds centre Keith Senior following their 18-10 defeat by Melbourne in the World Club Challenge two weeks ago. "Bygones have to be bygones and we've moved on from that match," McClennan told BBC Radio Leeds. "Richard has to be treated with the upmost respect as he is the official." Senior called Silverwood 'arrogant' after their defeat to the NRL champions at Elland Road, but has since apologised for those comments. He was subsequently fined £1,000 by the Rugby Football League, £500 of which was suspended for the rest of the season. But McClennan does not expect that episode to have any bearing on Sunday's match at the Galpharm Stadium. "We all learn lessons. As a squad and as a club we have learnt lessons from the World Club Challenge and I'm sure he [Silverwood] has too," he said. "We just have to move on and right or wrong we have to support our referees."
