McClennan's Rhinos have lost just one league game in 10
Leeds Rhinos hope to have Kevin Sinfield and Scott Donald back for Friday's trip to Wigan Warriors.
Captain Sinfield and wing Donald were forced to miss Friday's victory over Hull KR due to a dead leg and an illness respectively.
"We're very confident Sinfield will be all right and reasonably confident Scott will be okay," Rhinos head coach Brian McClennan told BBC Radio Leeds.
"Kevin almost made the game but just couldn't quite stride out correctly."
McClennan added: "Kevin got the dead leg in the last minute against Wakefield and did very well to treat it over the week, but we didn't want to risk him.
"He'll definitely be all right for the Wigan game on Friday.
Leeds are now joint top of Super League thanks to their 24-14 win over Hull KR, and St Helens shock 22-20 home loss to Wakefield.
Right-centre Lee Smith, who will leave the club for rugby union at the end of the season, starred for the Rhinos with four out of four goals in the absence of Sinfield and a try.
"Lee has been doing good and been very consistent over the last month.
"Since he has made the decide to leave he has really applied himself and he's earning the respect of everyone around him.
"He is a terrific player and he wants to end his career at Leeds on a high and we want to help him do that."
